Avian Influenza
1. Canada Reports 2 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry
On January 30, Canada reported 2 outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza H5N1 in poultry in Quebec. 19,000 poultry were infected and died, and 90,000 were culled.
2. United States Reports 6 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds and 7 in Poultry
On January 30, the United States reported 6 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds and 7 in poultry across four states including Kentucky. Fifty-two wild birds and backyard poultry were infected and died, 90 were culled; 47 poultry were infected and died, and 352,000 were culled.
3. Netherlands Reports 18 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds and 2 in Poultry
On January 26, 27, and 30, the Netherlands reported 18 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds and 2 in poultry across four provinces including Gelderland. Forty wild birds and backyard poultry were infected, 25 died, and 255 were culled; 340 poultry were infected, 40 died, and 114,000 were culled.
4. Poland Reports 13 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds and 4 in Poultry
On January 26, 27, and 29, Poland reported 13 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds and 4 in poultry across six provinces including Pomeranian Voivodeship. Seventy-nine wild birds and backyard poultry were infected, 46 died; 455,000 poultry were infected, and 2,358 died.
5. Ukraine Reports 1 HPAI H5N1 Outbreak in Wild Birds
On January 26, Ukraine reported 1 outbreak of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds in Chernihiv Oblast. Twenty wild birds and backyard poultry were infected and died.
6. Belgium Reports 1 HPAI H5N1 Outbreak in Poultry and 10 in Wild Birds
On January 26 and 30, Belgium reported 1 outbreak of HPAI H5N1 in poultry and 10 in wild birds across two regions including Flanders. 5,000 poultry were infected, 14 died, and 26,000 were culled; 10 wild birds were infected and died.
7. Belgium Reports 1 HPAI H5 Outbreak in Wild Birds
On January 27, Belgium reported 1 outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza H5 in wild birds in Flanders. One wild bird was infected and died.
8. Norway Reports 2 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds
On January 26 and 29, Norway reported 2 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds in Oslo Municipality. Two wild birds were infected and died.
9. United Kingdom Reports 3 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry
On January 26 and 30, the United Kingdom reported 3 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in poultry across two regions including England. 21,000 poultry were infected, and 1,817 died.
10. Czech Republic Reports 5 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds
On January 27 and 29, the Czech Republic reported 5 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds across five regions including Pardubice Region. Forty-eight wild birds and backyard poultry were infected and died, and 80 were culled.
11. Hungary Reports 2 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds and 3 in Poultry
On January 27 and 28, Hungary reported 2 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds and 3 in poultry across three regions including Veszprém County. Two wild birds and multiple poultry were infected and died.
12. Estonia Reports 1 HPAI H5N1 Outbreak in Wild Birds
On January 28, Estonia reported 1 outbreak of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds in Harju County. One wild bird was infected and died.
13. Finland Reports 2 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds
On January 28, Finland reported 2 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds in Southern Finland. Three wild birds were infected and died.
14. Ireland Reports 1 HPAI H5N1 Outbreak in Wild Birds
On January 28, Ireland reported 1 outbreak of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds in County Limerick. One wild bird was infected and died.
15. Switzerland Reports 2 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds
On January 28, Switzerland reported 2 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds across two regions including Canton of Zurich. Two wild birds were infected and died.
16. Germany Reports 12 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry
On January 28, 29, and 30, Germany reported 12 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in poultry across seven states including Saxony-Anhalt. 3,761 poultry were infected, 1,961 died, and 187,000 were culled.
17. France Reports 1 HPAI H5N1 Outbreak in Poultry
On January 29, France reported 1 outbreak of HPAI H5N1 in poultry in Vendée. 800 poultry were infected and died, and 115,000 were culled.
18. Austria Reports 1 HPAI H5N1 Outbreak in Wild Birds
On January 30, Austria reported 1 outbreak of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds in Burgenland. Fifteen wild birds and backyard poultry were infected and died.
19. Lithuania Reports 2 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds
On January 30, Lithuania reported 2 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds in Kaunas County. Three wild birds were infected and died.
20. Denmark Reports 3 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds
On January 30, Denmark reported 3 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds in three municipalities including Lejre, Guldborgsund, and Copenhagen. Three wild birds were infected and died.
21. Japan Reports 2 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry
On January 30, Japan reported 2 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in poultry in two prefectures including Chiba. 280 poultry were infected and died, and 129,000 were culled.
22. Bosnia and Herzegovina Reports 1 HPAI H5N1 Outbreak in Wild Birds
On January 30, Bosnia and Herzegovina reported 1 outbreak of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. One wild bird was infected and died.
23. Italy Reports 5 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds and 4 in Poultry
On January 30, Italy reported 5 outbreaks of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds and 4 in poultry across three regions including Veneto. Five wild birds were infected and died; 84,000 poultry were infected, 528 died, and 215,000 were culled.
24. Portugal Reports 1 HPAI H5N1 Outbreak in Wild Birds
On January 30, Portugal reported 1 outbreak of HPAI H5N1 in wild birds in its Exclusive Economic Zone. One wild bird was infected and died.

1. Indonesia Reports 73 Rabies Outbreaks
On January 28, Indonesia reported 73 outbreaks of rabies in East Nusa Tenggara Province. Eighty-three domestic dogs were infected and died.
2. Poland Reports 5 Newcastle Disease Outbreaks
On January 26, 28, and 29, Poland reported 5 outbreaks of Newcastle disease across two provinces including Greater Poland Voivodeship. 219,000 poultry were infected, 19,000 died, and 538,000 were culled.
3. Mexico Reports 1 New World Screwworm Outbreak
On January 28, Mexico reported 1 outbreak of New World screwworm in Colima State. One bovine was infected.
4. Cabo Verde Reports 1 Pullorum Disease Outbreak
On January 29, Cabo Verde reported 1 outbreak of pullorum disease in Santo Domingo. Nine poultry were infected.
5. Cabo Verde Reports 1 Avian Mycoplasmosis Outbreak
On January 29, Cabo Verde reported 1 outbreak of avian mycoplasmosis in Maio Island. Twenty-three poultry were infected and died.
6. Ireland Reports 1 Bluetongue Serotype 3 Outbreak
On January 26, Ireland reported 1 outbreak of bluetongue serotype 3 in County Wexford. One bovine was infected.
7. Greece Reports 12 Bluetongue Outbreaks
On January 26, Greece reported 12 outbreaks of bluetongue (3 serotype 4 and 9 serotype 8) across four prefectures including Samos, Boeotia, Larissa, and Thessaloniki. Six cattle, 104 sheep, and goats were infected.
8. United Kingdom Reports 11 Bluetongue Serotype 3 Outbreaks
On January 27 and 30, the United Kingdom reported 11 outbreaks of bluetongue serotype 3 across two regions including England. Fifty-six cattle were infected, and two died.
9. Serbia Reports 1 Bluetongue Serotype 3 Outbreak
On January 27, Serbia reported 1 outbreak of bluetongue serotype 3 in Ra?ka District. One bovine was infected.
10. Chile Reports 1 Equine Infectious Anemia Outbreak
On January 30, Chile reported 1 outbreak of equine infectious anemia in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. Three horses were infected and culled.
11. North Macedonia Reports 1 Sheep Pox Outbreak
On January 29, North Macedonia reported 1 outbreak of sheep pox in Lipkovo Municipality. Two sheep were infected and died, and 65 were culled.
12. Eswatini Reports 13 Foot and Mouth Disease (SAT1) Outbreaks
On January 26, Eswatini reported 13 outbreaks of foot and mouth disease serotype SAT1 across three regions including Lubombo. Sixty-seven cattle were infected.
13. South Africa Reports 34 Foot and Mouth Disease (SAT2) Outbreaks
On January 27, South Africa reported 34 outbreaks of foot and mouth disease serotype SAT2 across four provinces including North West, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, and Eastern Cape. 190 cattle were infected, and 11 died.
14. Israel Reports 2 Foot and Mouth Disease (SAT1) Outbreaks
On January 29, Israel reported 2 outbreaks of foot and mouth disease serotype SAT1 in the Golan Heights. 102 cattle were infected.
15. Botswana Reports 1 Foot and Mouth Disease Outbreak
On January 30, Botswana reported 1 outbreak of foot and mouth disease in North-East District. Thirty-five cattle were infected.

On January 26, Hungary reported 40 outbreaks of African Swine Fever in wild boars across six regions including Fejér County. Forty-four wild boars were infected and died.

On January 26 and 30, Lithuania reported 71 outbreaks of African Swine Fever in wild boars across four regions including Panev??ys County. Eighty-two wild boars were infected and died.
